The Oberbaum Bridge, Berlin's landmark, connects the districts of Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain by crossing the River Spree. With its red-brick arches and neo-Gothic towers, it is a strong landmark in Berlin's urban landscape that is simultaneously a transport axis, railway line and historical symbol. Illuminating this monument required a solution that would enhance the architecture without distorting it and at the same time fulfil the technical requirements of a work of art in an urban environment. SILL 14L floodlights were chosen to meet these challenges.
Equipped with powerful and precise optics, these luminaires make it possible to delicately emphasise the architectural details of the bridge by avoiding any light pollution in the sky or on the banks. Thanks to their robust design and optimised thermal management, the 14L guarantee long-lasting performance even under demanding external conditions. Their unobtrusive installation ensures successful visual integration and leaves plenty of room for the silhouette of the bridge, which comes into its own after dark. The result is controlled lighting that emphasises the Oberbaumbrücke's strong identity while preserving the city's nocturnal atmosphere.
