The Europa Tower is a Deutsche Telekom telecommunications tower in Frankfurt am Main. At 337.5 metres high, it is the second highest in Germany after the Berlin "Alex" television tower (368 metres).
The exact LED technology of the company Sammode, brand SILL, enables significant energy savings in the illumination of the tower. The Europaturm in Frankfurt is illuminated with white light from the ground up to the gallery (227 m) using the SILL 14L type floodlight. The lighting of the platforms above the gallery was to be optimised and illuminated predominantly in the typical Telekom magenta. The SILL 14M floodlight was used, featuring special LED technology and lighting design tailored to the size of the platforms. This type of floodlight makes it possible to display various freely selectable colours via external DMX control. During normal operation, the familiar Telekom colour – magenta – is used.
The required number and position of the spotlights was determined using 3D planning. 12 14M spotlights were installed per platform.
